Perhaps you need to add the Hotmail address(es) to your address book, or perhaps they're just taking longer to get to you today. The first time I created a Hotmail account to use as a back-up for my main Yahoo! account, it took hours for anything from my Hotmail one to get to my Yahoo! one, and that wasn't until after I'd added them to one another's address book or contacts list.
