Am using a program and they asked me for my email SMTP,what is it please(by the way am using a hotmail) thanx?

Hotmail does not provide POP3 access so you will not have their SMTP server.

However, you can use the one provided by your ISP which should be free to use. Just call your Internet Service Provider and ask them for their SMTP address. You can use this address in your program.

SMTP = simple mail transport protocol.

In this case they are looking for the DNS name or IP address of the SMTP server at your service provider. You need to look at the hotmail information to see what it is. Usually found in a FAQ or similar.
Reply:Hotmail doesn't use SMTP...Hotmail doesn't go via POP unless you've got the paid-for Hotmail (in which case I dunno because I've never had it!). If you get online and logon to your Hotmail account and look up the setup instructions for setting up an Outlook Express Account, for example, Microsoft instructs you (as opposed to giving the usual POP and SMTP server address names) to go set the server as an HTTP server whose name is Hotmail.
